Janean, Yes, there were other ADAMS families in White Co IL, I don't think they were related to mine, just a coincidence. This family has been a real challenge, to find earlier, and I haven't been successful. By 1865 they were in the Jonesboro, Union County IL area, they settled and stayed in Makanda, Jackson County, IL, and Williamson County, IL. John 1802 Va died probably in White County prob abt. 1857 or so, and wife Ailsey most probably in Union County/Jackson County IL between 1865 and before 1870. My gr uncle once told me he thought that they were in S. Car. before working their way up to S. IL.(who knows?) Eldest child, Anderson ADAMS was born in TN 1832, as well as next two children, then the next several in KY, and last two in IL, but, the census says KY, which is doubtful. Most of the family died fairly young, probably TB, Only 3 lived to old age. I do thank you for answering me, I really must get better in my responses to the correct board.
