    1. [ADAMS] Sorting out Israel B Adams and Israel P Adams of Ohio
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lynnefarr22 Surnames: Adams, Snyder, Grubb Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/14557/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My gr-grandfather was Israel Putname Adams. According to his Civil War NARA record he was born in Knox Co, OH in 1844. He married Mary Snyder and moved to Texas before 1880. There is also an Israel B. Adams who was born in Ohio in 1842. He married a woman named Nancy. The children are different. In the 1850 census, Israel B may have been in Ill living near Danl. Grubb. I believe Israel B Adams is related to the Grubbs. Israel B Adams lived in OH on the 1870 census and in ILL on the 1880 census. Israel P Adams was in TX on the 1870 and 1880 censuses. This fits with his NARA pension application and my grandfather's recollections. I can't find anything before 1860 on Israel P Adams. He servved in the KY militia during the Civil War. There are many family tree postings that are linked with Israel P Adams that probably are actually Israel B Adams. I'd appreciate any help finding Israel P(Putnam) Adams before he married Mary Snyder is Ashland Co OH in 1864. Would be gl! ad to share information I have. Thanks very much. I will try to find Samuel Adams in my lineage. Most of my father's family (and that's where I'm told the connection to John Quincy Adams comes from) is from Arkansas. I think I also heard that Daniel Boone was related. And that name is interesting since my dad's family's name is Boen....pretty close to Boone, actually. I really don't have other information for you since I'm stuck with finding out where my link is. I'll keep looking.I'm going to Boston for 3 days in September and I was hoping I could track my heritage a little. We'll see, I guess! WE ARE KENTUCKY "ADAMS", OUR RECENT FAMILY CAME THROUGH THE CUMBERLAND GAP WITH DANIEL BOONE FROM ROWAN COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA. BEFORE THAT, SAMUEL ADAMS, A COUSIN OF JOHN AND JOHN QUINCY, WAS THE ONE WHO WENT TO NORTH CAROLINA FROM MASSACHUSETTES. IN FACT, WE FOUND OUT THAT WE ARE RELATED TO THE ROYAL FAMILY OF ENGLAND, THROUGH THE TUDOR LINE. BY A FRENCH LADY NAMED MARGARET BEAUCHAMP. SHE MARRIED AN ADAMS IN THE 15TH CENTURY I THINK. THIS WAS ARRANGED BY THE ROYALTY OF BOTH COUNTRIES TO TRY AND KEEP THESE COUNTRIES ON GOOD TERMS. I HAVE THESE RECORDS AND WOULD BE GLAD TO SEND THEM TO YOU IF YOU WISH. I HAVE TRACED OUR LINE ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE VIKINGS. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU AND HOW YOUR FAMILY LINE IS RELATED TO THE ADAMS.
