    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: sagieseler Surnames: Adams, Talcott Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.adams/14610/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Seeking information about a William Adams, possible father of Ichabod Adams and Samuel Adams. Ichabod was born 20 Jul 1788 in Massachusetts. Birth dates of William and Samuel are unknown. A William Adams is on the 1790 Federal Census as living in Bethlehem, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. A William Adams is on the 1800 and 1810 censuses in Belchertown, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. A William Adams is on the 1820 census in Enfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. A Samuel Adams is also on the 1820 Census in Enfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts. I'm trying to find out if William is the father of Ichabod Adams who was drafted into Captain Gilbert's Company of the Massachusetts Militia in 1814 and who married a Polly Willis in Belchertown, Massachusetts in 1815. Polly Willis Adams died in 1817, probably in or near Belchertown after giving birth to a daughter, Polly. Ichabod emigrated to Thompson and then Madison, Geauga County, Ohio, around 1819-1820 where he married ! Polly Talcott who had been born in Dalton, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Ichabod died in Madison, Lake County, Ohio, in 1853. A William Adams married a Jemima Sole (Soule?) in Belchertown 30 Oct 1801 and a Samuel Adams of Belchertown filed an intention to marry a Emelia Hutchinson (Hutchenson?) of Ware, Massachusetts in 1815. William Adams may have been related to a Nathan Adams of Belchertown. Does anyone have any additional information about these individuals? 3. I have no idea where the Adams are from. The Lettie Bruce woman mentioned in the Bible is from Dawson Co., Ga. On another page it lists her family records. But to me it looks like this Bible may have belonged to the Adams first and then somehow Lettie became owner of it. When she passed away, it was given to my grandfather, Lewis Green Brackett of Lumpkin Co., Ga. As of yet, I have not found any Adams in my line, even through marriage. Hopefully someone will recognize the names and will be blessed! :o) Rhonda William Simmons wrote: > Do you have any clue where this Adams family are from?
