Maybe try Obion Co. TN or in the area of White Co. IL and possibly back to the area of Chester Co. SC. My Adams line is a brick wall at the period of about 1820's when 3 of the boys were born in Chester SC supposedly their immigrant father (I think) came from Ireland originally. There were other Adams families in Chester as well. A lot of the Adams and collateral lines went to Obion Co. TN and then a few went to Indiana and mine into White Co. IL. There were some collateral lines who went to Cape Giradeau, MO, Ripley Co. MO - some into AR as well. River towns is where the action was back then and remember eveyone came from the East originally. I'd work your way backwards and investigate some of these Adams lines along the lower base of Indiana and Illinois and look around the river towns of TN and KY. Interesting that one of my direct granparents ended up in Grayson Co. TX which isn't that ! far from Erath. I'm surprised you can't find any of the boys or William on a later census. They usually told where they were born and where their parents were born. Good luck Janean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
