Dear List Members, Our Acadian and Cajun history has countless examples of help that we have received from "The First Americans" - the Native Americans. Many of the Native Americans in Canada and Louisiana are our blood cousins! Hurricanes Katrina and Rita caused major damage to the Tribes in Louisiana. Since the Tribes are Sovereign Nations, they may not receive the same level of support from FEMA that other groups will receive.
