These two men came to America in 1734 aboard the ship Princess Augusta and landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nicolas left his uncle and moved to Louisiana in 1759, settling near Highland Road south of Bayou Manchac. Francois remained in the North as each man raised their respective families. The nine children that moved to Louisiana with Nicolas settled in or near the Felicianas, St. Charles, John and James, Orleans & Iberville parishes. Related families include THOMAS, SHARP, KLEINPETER, BOULLION, CAMBRE, & MILLET just to name a few. Friday will mainly be for hotel check in and the evening will be for the main purpose of meeting the guests and take supper at a local restaurant. There will be featured and well known speakers at this event on Saturday April 26, 2003, with talks on both genealogy and historical circumstances. Horace Ory will speak in the morning and Elton Oubre will speak later in the afternoon. Also, there will be food served for both lunch and supper with the Cliff Nickens band performing late into the night. People are arriving from many different states, so come and meet some family relatives for the first time. Suggested donations to help with the costs are as follows: $25 per person and $40 per household (persons must live under the same roof). The event will be held at the Gonzales Civic Center on Irma Boulevard. Word of mouth is encouraged, so tell everyone you know that may be interested in attending. T-Shirts and books (by Elton Oubre and Lynette LeBlanc Kleinpeter along with The ORY Story) will be available for sale, or you can order ahead of time and have them there when you arrive. On Sunday, April 27, there will be a special tour of the San Francisco Plantation in Lyons, Louisiana as it relates back to the days when the Ory family owned it. Tickets and transportation will be each persons separate responsibility and the cost are: Adults $10.00 AAA & Military $9.00; Students aged 13-18 $5.00; Children aged 6-12 $3.00; Below age 6 Free and are sold at the gate.
