    1. Re: [Acadian-Cajun] LeBlanc-Landry
    2. Ethel & List, When I was in Moncton in 2004, I got a look at this family in Stephen White's draft version of the new volumes of DGFA. Under Jean LE BLANC (#41), his son Jean-Charles (dit AGROS) married 1st around 1751 to Judith(-Marguerite) LANDRY, daughter of Antoine LANDRY & Marie MELANSON. They were on the 1763 census at Baltimore, Maryland; and on the 1767 list of arrivals at St. Gabriel, Louisiana, when Judit [sic] was listed as age 40. Since Jean-Charles married again at St. James of Cabahannocer on 5 Aug 1770 to Osite LANDRY, widow of Janvier dit Jean BREAU, we can assume that Judith had died by that date. Her baptismal record can be found in the Baton Rouge Diocese, CATHOLIC CHURCH RECORDS, vol. 1a (Acadian Records [carried to St. Gabriel, LA]), pp. 112-113: Judith LANDRY, daughter of Antoine & Marie MELANCON, born 12 Mar 1728, baptized 29 May 1728. Sponsors: Francois LANDRY & Anne MELANCON (SGA-2, 85). Antoine LANDRY is in the 1st set of DGFA (p. 928), & his wife Marie MELANSON is on DGFA (p. 1152).
