Would anyone have information on the fate and decendency of Etienne Forest b abt 1750/5? Pisiquit, Acadia. Per the St Malo records, he survived the deportation and was living in the St Servan parrish 1759-65. His parents, Jean Baptist/Marie Madeliene LeBlanc and siblings Olivier and Marie-Josephe parrished in the deportation. Another sibling, Theodose, escaped deportation by going to Quebec. In Acadian Families in Exile 1785 by Rev. Donald J. Hebert, on page 91, an Etienne Forest is listed on the passenger list of La Ville d'Archangel. They are family number 13 and this Etienne is listed as a nephew of Jacques Forest.. This Jacques Forest is a grand uncle of the Etienne Forest (JB/Marie Madeleine LeBlanc), so this might possibly be the correct Etienne. Any suggestions on confirming this is the correct Etienne and son of JB and Marie Madeleine LeBlanc would be appreciated. Monte LeBlanc

Hi Monte - this is from Stephen White... <<You may tell Monte LeBlanc that the Étienne "Desforêts" who was on La Ville d'Archangel with his uncle Jacques must indeed have been the son of Jean-Baptiste Forest and Marie-Madeleine LeBlanc. There is no other possibility, because by examining the various lists of the Acadians exiled in France one readily sees that he was the only Étienne Forest among them. Étienne Forest is listed in 1762 at St-Servan, residing with Étienne Hamet, who used to be the Forests' neighbour on Île Royale. By 1772, Étienne Forest had moved to Morlaix, where he was then working as a domestic servant. He was married on May 13, 1774, in St-Sauveur parish at Quimper, to Marie-Anne Jolivet. I do not have any further information regarding his marriage, but more might be learned through further research in the records at either Quimper or Morlaix. It would appear, however, that the marriage did not last long. Étienne's appearance alone on the passengers' list of La Ville d'Archangel raises the presumption that Marie-Anne Jolivet had died, along with any children she and Étienne might have had.>> Lucie LeBlanc Consentino Acadian & French Canadian Ancestral Home www.acadian-home.org Am-Can Gen Soc www.acgs.org CMA 2004 - www.cma2004.com Grand-Pré - http://www.grand-pre.com/ www.umoncton.ca/etudeacadiennes/centre/cea.html -----Original Message----- From: Monte LeBlanc [mailto:monteleblanc3@att.net] Sent: Thursday, October 02, 2003 11:31 PM To: ACADIAN-CAJUN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ACADIAN-CAJUN] Etienne Forest Would anyone have information on the fate and decendency of Etienne Forest b abt 1750/5?
