The Acadian Community on Prince Edward Island is proposing that Prince Edward Island host the 2008 World Acadian Congress on the 250th Anniversary of the Deportation of the Acadians from the Island. Maria Bernard president of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Association had the proposal delivered to the National Society of Acadians in Moncton N.B. on Sept 30, 2003.
