Alice, Please clarify. The Chauvin lines in Colonial were French [from La Rochelle] and French-Canadian [Quebec & Montreal] not Acadian lines. One of the Chauvin lines married into the early French LeBlanc line. I've from the 1st gone to all sites and post my Chauvin name. And in one M.O.A. in the very beginning I read about 3 Chauvin Brothers. Never in my wildest dreams, did i think they were mine.. but as time went on, I discovered they were my direct line descendents. Last Christmas I traced my very own little Granma all the way back to the founder of Grand Pre. When I created my home page, I called it Grand Pre Louisianne.. never dreaming there'd be a connection to the one in Nova Scotia!! My search started 'cause, My Granma died in 1898, when Daddy was a year old. When my Aunts would talk of her.. oooh my Daddy would have a little soft wistful smile, a faraway look in his pretty blue eyes...I wanted to find her for him:) As you may guess, I am/was a Daddys' girl:)) And all I knew and had to go on, was Daddy telling me we were Cajuns...and we were run out of Nova Scotia. We were some of the best people on earth, and for me to NEVER be ashamed. And believe me I AM A PROUD CAJUN Yeah!! Heck, even before I could read, I knew where Nova Scotia was on a map!:) Daddy would show me, as i stood on my tiptoes at our table...... love yall my cousins, alice A-MAE-ZN CAJUN AT GRAND PRE LOUISIANNE!:) > http://www.angelfire.com/tx/cajunmae/index.html > Swampqueen - Reine des Bayous! > LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULLER! > CHER YOU GOT'A DANCE LIKE NOBODY'S WATCHIN' & LOVE LIKE IT AIN'T EVER GONNA HURT WIT' MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies > http://www.redhotmojo.com/ ==== ACADIAN-CAJUN Mailing List ==== To verify the RootsWeb Mailing Lists to which you are currently subscribed, check Password Central: http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Mark the box to have a list of your subscribed lists e-mailed to you. ============================== Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the areas they lived.
