I'm trying to find out if any of the Acadian families deported from Acadia used the surname of Rochelle or used the "dit name" Rochelle in their name? Perhaps once in Boston or the Carolinas or Louisiana they dropped the family name and stuck with just Rochelle. I'm trying to locate the family of my GGGrandfather Casimere Rochelle who died in Bridgeport CT in 1863. If his trade is any help he was a saddler. Ed Hagerty Monroe, CT
