    3. Alice, you usually can find the records of the parish Selective Service Board in the parish courthouse, office of the Clerk of Court. I would recommend that you find out from the Clerk's office where these records are housed for the parish you want. These records usually give personal information such as date of birth, where born, parents' names, where residing, draft classification, whether married, when inducted, when discharged, units served with, etc. Additionally, you can usually find a legal recording of discharge papers in the Clerk's office, in the Conveyance Records, as most veterans were called on to bring their discharge papers to the courthouse to be recorded. Most did, many for the purpose of safekeeping, for eligibility for future benefits. There is a lot of personal and military data in these recordings, when they exist. Additionally, I've forgotten the process and who is eligible to do this, but I know there is a way to get a copy of a soldier's military records, with some batches not being available, having been burned at a storage facility. I would recommend that you get infor from a parish Veterans Officer. My papers included Selective Service registration forms, physical exams and classification forms, oaths and induction papers that I signed, and discharge papers, which I also signed! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alice Chauvin Brad shaw,SWAMPQUEEN;" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 24, 2006 12:33 PM Subject: Re: [ACADIAN-CAJUN] MISSISSIPPI: All Counties - Index of WorldWar 1 REGISTRANTS > Hi Brad, > thanks but where can i find info on WW1 Louisiana listing of soldiers? > Either draftees or Enlistees. my Daddy was a WW1 soldier.
