    3. Below is a response that I sent to Glena on January 16, 2006 Glena, I've received your inquiry - see below. I found Cassius Bordelon on the 1900 and 1910 census in Avoyelles Parish. Cevalia was shown as Seleva on the 1910 census. She was the 2nd wife. The wife on the 1900 census was Clara. Cassius was shown as Cassius B on the 1910 census. Your grandmother is shown as Lessie [or Lissie] which would be a nickname for Elisabeth. Seleva is shown as age 26 on the 1910 census so she would have been born in 1883 or 1884 if the age is correct. Do you know the names of siblings of Mary Cevalia? I couldn't find Cassius on the 1880 census. The first Bordelon in Louisiana was Gabriel Laurent who was born in 1696 at LeHavre, France. He married Marie Francoise Roland in 1730 in New Orleans. She was from Paris. Their son, Antoine was an officer of the Pointe Coupee Militia and fought under Galvez - see http://www.thecajuns.com/rwpointc.htm Some Bordelons moved to Avoyelles. I wanted to see if anyone can help me on this. My grandmother was Lessie Elizabeth Bordelon. Her parents were Cassius Bordelon, Sr. and Mary Cevalia Broussard. The problem I'm running into is my great grandmother Mary Cevalia Broussard. On one line which I thought to be pretty reputable it says her parents are Alexandre Dupre Broussard and Cordelia Guidry. On some lines that I see of Alexandre or Dupre Broussard, I don't see my great grandmother's name. Can someone check this out for me. The line I have shows she was born June 1881 in Broussard Cove, Louisiana along with her other siblings. I need it verified for me if possible. The only other thing I know to do is try to get a birth certificate. I have one for my grandmother. Now for another one. My grandmother's husband was Floyd Monroe Miller. His parents were Lawrence Miller and Emily Maude Willis. Those aren't Cajun names but my grandfather and at least one of his brothers looked American Indian, Cajun or French. I have run into a big dead end with my great grandparents. I can't find them on anything much less their ancestors. Can you steer me in the direction of another group that might help me? I greatly appreciate any help I can get. Glena __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
