He was the son of Joseph Broussard and Anne Breau and the widower of Marguerite LeBlanc. Modeste was buried on 2 August 1848 in New Iberia. Modeste was the daughter of Pierre-Jacques LeBlanc and Anastasie D'Amours de Louviere who married on 30 Jan 1775 at St-Jacques de Cabahannocer. Pierre-Jacques LeBlanc was born 29 June 1748 and baptized 30 June 1748. he was the son of Jacques dit Jacob & Marie-Josephe Rouleau. He was buried 10/11 March 1830 I St-Martinville at the age of 103. Anastasie D'Amours de Louviere was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste & Genevieve Bergeron. She was born abt 1758 and died at Fause-Pointe buried at St-Martinville 910 Oct 1815 at the age of 68. The source for the unpublished LeBlanc volume is the DOBR and SWLR records. This was a French-Canadian LeBlanc line. Pierre-Jacques is normally shown as Pierre, but on some records is shown as Pierre-Jacques because his father's name was Jacques. The age of 103 at death comes from the SWLR entry, but, it is incorrect! As Lucie states, he was born abt 1748 and died in 1830 so he was 82. One has to be careful about claims of age at death of over 100 in the early records - I haven't found an accurate one, especially for the Mouton line! Closer to home, I was told that my great-grandmother was over 100 when she died, but she was actually about 90.
