Hi I am looking for any information about Jean Lamirande m. Francoise Jeanpart. Their daughter, Francoise, m. Alexis Fleury 2-Feb 1778 in St-Cuthbert, P.Q.. The marriage cert states that Francoise origins are St-Jean-en-Acadie. Thanks Jackie
Jackie From the date, & names I would suggest it might be Ile St-Jean, our name for Prince Edward Island. I believe Dave Hunter has the 1752 census on his website http://www.islandregister.com/ There are also partial registers for St-Jean-l-Evangeliste in Port-Lajoie, & St-Pierre-du-Nord in St-Pierre both on the Island. Also check as Mirande. The family of Joseph Mirande moves Beaubasin to Ile-Royale in 1714 DGFA v2 p 1200-1201. Ile-Royale is the "real" name of Cape Breton. See also 1752 census of Ile-Royale on Lucie's website at Laurenbec (pg 73 in my book). we have Joseph (jr) & Marie (-m- Georges Chauvin). Look for the family of their deceased brother Pierre & secondary for the other three brothers we only have 1714 census info & nothing else. Hi Jackie, You might want to try the provincial government's site that contains the parish records for the parish of St-Jean Baptiste at Port-Royal. I don't know if the Part you are searching would be there but I think it might be a good place to start. http://www.gov.ns.ca/nsarm/cap/acadian/default.asp Lucie LeBlanc Consentino Acadian Ancestral Home www.acadian-home.org ACGS Drouin Primary Records www.acgs.org -----Original Message----- From: Jacqueline Doty [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2006 10:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ACADIAN-CAJUN] JEANPART-LAMIRANDE Hi I am looking for any information about Jean Lamirande m.
