I received an inquiry from Jean Gignoux from Provence near Aix-en-Provence in France regarding the lineage of the family line of LANDRY - PEYTAVIN. Alexandre Charles LANDRY of St Suplice in Paris (son of Etienne Nicholas LANDRY & Marie Adelaide LEPEN) married on 1 April 1811, Louise Antoinette PEYTAVIN and whose children and descendants established in the Opelousas area. Alexandre Charles LANDRY was born ca 1790 in Paris (parish of St Eustache) died 19 january 1858 in Paris Louise Antoinette PEYTAVIN born 21 December 1796 at Opelousas. Issue: 1. Alexander-Louis born 24 July 1814 in Opelousas deceased (?) m. 14 June 1842 in Opelousas to Henriette Lastraps bn ca 1825 in Opelousas died 18 February 1882 in New Orleans - Issue (3 children) - Alexandre-Charles Landry ; Henry Landry; Maurice Landry 2. Marie Xavier Landry born 06 June 1827 at St-Aubin (France) married 27 December 1861 at Algiers - Elisabeth Lanne who was born 19 September 1839 at Rouen - Issue: 4 children : Pauline Landry deceased in 1946 - Louise Landry deceased in 1947 - Charles Landry bn ca 1870 deceased ca 1947 - Maurice born ca 1874 and deceased ca 1950. 3. Adélaïde Landry ?????? 4. (and the fourth no information) Is anyone familiar with this family?? Is this a 4th or possibly a 5th Landry family line that was established in Louisiana?? The first two being the progeny of the two Acadian René Landrys. The third the Landry family line or clan from Switzerland whose progenitor is Jean-Jacques Henri Landry and Susanne Celestine Sandoz, and who established in Louisiana ca 1830-1850, and today, their progeny are concentrated in the Lafayette, Louisiana area.
