During the past two weeks, thanks to Judy Palm in Calgary Alberta Canada, Kathye Knight, Andre Landry in Montreal, Jean Gignoux in Coudoux (a small village provençal situated fifteen kilometers from Aix-en-Provence) , Stanley LeBlanc in Louisiana and others we have been able to get the entire genealogical succession of Coach Tom Landry's family line. And this week, discovered another seperate Landry Family line in Louisiana. The discovery of this line brings to 5 the number of seperate Landry family lines that has established in North America. The first two being the two Acadian Renés; the third the Landry family line or clan whose progenitor was Guillaume Landry who established at Ille d'Orleans in Quebec the 4th is a line from from Switzerland whose progenitor is Jean-Jacques Henri Landry and Susanne Celestine Sandoz, who established in Louisiana ca 1830-1850; and today, their progeny are concentrated in the Lafayette, Louisiana area. - And now this 5th Landry family line with Charles-Alexandre Landry and Louise-Antoinette Peytavin from France. Following is some information on this line: Alexandre Charles LANDRY of St Suplice in Paris (son of Etienne Nicholas LANDRY & Marie Adelaide LEPEN) married on 1 April 1811, Louise Antoinette PEYTAVIN and whose children and descendants established in the Opelousas area. According to Stanley LeBlanc at: cajun@thecajuns.com (Cajun) "Both the Petavin du Bousquet and the Landry line were from France and well-connected with all the leading figures in Attakapas. Both were Chevaliers. There are 103 entries for Peytavin in Hebert's "South West Louisiana Records" thru 1900 and some in ADNO. I checked SWLR for the father of Alexandre-Charles but apparently Alexandre-Charles was the 1st generation. There are a few Peyvatin mulatto lines - I added a few entries. Since both Peytavin and Landry came from distinguished French families, it isn't surprising that Alexandre-Louis ended up in France. =========++++++++++++++ Stanley provided the following information: LANDRY, Alexandre Charles - of this parish, native of St. Sulpice parish of Paris [France] (major son of Etienne Nicolas & Marie Adelaide LEPEU) m. 1 April 1811 Louise Antoinette PEYTAVIN - of this parish, native of Opelousas (minor daughter of dec.
