Hello List, I was looking up the family of Paul BOURGEOIS & Marie Josephe BRUN for Roger Rozendal. They married at Port Royal, Acadia in 1727. I looked in Milton P. & Norma Gaudet Rieder, ACADIAN CHURCH RECORDS, vol. II Beaubassin 1712-1748. It transcribes the 6 registers from Beaubassin, deposited at the Archives of the Mayor of La Rochelle, France (at least at the time of reprinting in 1975). There are gaps in the registers from Jul 1723 - May 1732, and from Mar 1735 - Feb 1740. Could Michel BOURGEOIS not be of this family, so not in the Beaubassin registers? Or was he born around 1738 during one of the gaps? The only children listed are these. p. 33 Marie Joseph [sic] BOURGEOIS, daughter of Paul BOURGEOIS & Marie Joseph BRUN, baptized 20 Aug 1733. Sponsors: Jean Jacques BOURGEOIS & Anne BOURGEOIS. p. 54 Anne Marie BOURGEOIS, daughter of Paul BOURGEOIS & Marie Joseph BRUN, baptized 4 Jun 1740 at Beaubassin. Sponsors: Paul SIRE & Marguerite BOURGEOIS. p. 88 Scolastique BOURGEOIS, daughter of Paul BOURGEOIS & Marie Joseph BRUN, born and baptized 10 Feb 1743 at Beaubassin. Sponsors: Jacques VIGNOT & Marie Joseph RICHARD. p. 100 Pierre BOURGEOIS, son of Paul BOURGEOIS & Marie BRUN, born and baptized 23 Jan 1745 at Beaubassin. Sponsors: Jean Baptiste BERNARD & Anne BOURGEOIS. p. 124 Jean Baptiste BOURGEOIS, son of Paul BOURGEOIS & Marie Joseph HEBER (BRUN), born and baptized 1 Jan 1748 at Beaubassin. Sponsors: Pierre CHIASSON & Rose BOURGEOIS. I also have a Paul II born about 1731 (during a gap, or possibly at Port Royal?); Joseph, born about 1736 (during a gap). Any ideas about Michel?
