Please help me translate the French-language record of a family meeting about the estate of Jacques Derouen (1780-1840) whose mother was the Acadian Genevieve Hebert. The subject of the 30 Nov. 1840 meeting is the issue of whether Jacques' only underage heir Marguerite, age 19, should be allowed to manage her share of the estate herself, that is, be made an adult by the court. Hello Martha Thank you for posting images of this record. It does not seem to be the record of Marguerite's emancipation; it does seem to be a copy of information about Jacque's estate presented by notary Jacques Briant in which the 8 children of Jacques Derouen and the spouses of the married daughters are presented as his inheritors. Certain values are presented that are owed/owing by the estate.
