This is a scam. One of the companies doing this is located about 50 miles north of me in Ohio, and they are well known throughout the U.S. Periodically they change their business name, or operate under several names. I am involved with genealogical associations in various states and most have printed a warning about this type of situation. They take names and addresses from phone books, etc. the information is general. You would learn names of people with your surname in other countries.
