Andy, Don & List, The parents of Marguerite ALLAIN were Pierre ALLAIN II & Catherine HEBERT (p. 827 in Stephen White's DGFA). Her grandparents were: Pierre (Louis) ALLAIN (p. 13) & Marguerite LE BLANC (p. 990); Jacques HEBERT (p. 825) & Marguerite LANDRY (p. 919). Don has the descendancy of Pierre Abraham LANDRY correct as far as his male ancestors go, but his father Abraham (dit Petit Abram) LANDRY (p. 933 DGFA) was the son of his father Abraham's 2nd marriage about 1746 to Marguerite FLAN, daughter of Jean Francois FLAN & Marie DUPUIS. Also, Pierre Abraham LANDRY was born about 1753 in Acadia [not ca 1762], so when he was married on 11 Jan 1773 he was around age 19 or 20 [not 10 or 11]. I have 11 (or 10?) children listed for this couple, born in Ascension Parish, LA from 1774 to 1794. All the baptisms but one are transcribed in the Baton Rouge Diocese, CATHOLIC CHURCH RECORDS, vol. 2. Hope this helps. Karen
The confusion re Marguerite LeBlanc vs. Marguerite Flan apparently started with entries 387 & 388 on pages 55-56 in An Attempt to Re-Assemble the Old Settlers in Family Groups by Sidney A. Marchand, Sr. Mr. Marchand states in #388 on page 55 that Joseph, a son of Abram Landry and Marguerite LeBlanc m. Magdeleine LeBlanc [Etienne LeBlanc-Elizabeth Boudreau], of Miramichi, Acadia...Madeleine was my 4th great-grandaunt. DOBR, v.2. correction page 11a and pages 429 and 472 document that Magdeleine m. Joseph Landry, son of Abram Landry and Marguerite Flan [Flanc] on 2/23/1778 [the original date was shown as 2/23/1773]. Joseph died in 1784 and Madeleine married Henri Robicheaux and later Jacques Lamotte. There is some confusion because the DOBR shows a Joseph Landry who was the wid. of Magdalena LeBlanc [parents not given] m. 11/25/1781 Magdalena Babein, widow of Charles Babein. This isn't the same Joseph Landry.
