Hi all, First, [to Margy] let me say that it was good to see that you & yours fared well during the storm, glad to see your back! I visited St. Martinville yesterday [The Wall of Names]. This was by no means my first visit, :-), but I was quite surprised by one of the names that appears in the group of Olivier Thibodeau. The family group of Olivier Thibodeau is listed as follows: OLIVIER THIBODEAU MADELEINE BROUSSARD MARIE THEODORE ISABELLE LANDRY BELLE FILLE ANNE LANDRY BELLE FILLE AMAND THIBODEAU FRERE Anne Landry "belle fille" of Olivier Thibodeau, is in my direct line of ancestors, therefore all of the names in this family unit are in my file... EXCEPT!!! ISABELLE LANDRY. Who is she, a sister to Anne Landry??? Older or younger than Anne??? Did she marry??? If so, to whom??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rita

Rita I have ocasionally seen Belle Fille to mean Daughter in Law. Hope this helps. In the 1769 Attakapas census is found: Ollivier Tibodeau age 35 (sic) His wife [Agnes Brun age 26] Anne daughter (sic) [Landry] age 15 Theodor son age 8 Marie daughter age 8 Anne daughter (sic) [Doucet] age 5 As can be seen, there is no indication of an Isabelle Landry with the Olivier Thibodeau family from 12 August 1763 on. If there was an Isabelle Landry, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Landry and Madeleine Broussard, she either died before 1763 (before age 15) or was separated from her mother in imprisonment. Thanks, Roger I was hoping you would respond to my message. I know that you have done a great deal of research on the early arrival to Louisiana [to include this family]. Before posting, I had gone over all of your postings of this family, and also all of the possible sources that I have on hand concerning this family, and could not come up with one instance that mentioned an "Isabelle" being a sister to Anne, either.
