    3. SAW 238 Brossard also referenced as dit Beausoleil Also similiar family of Brosseau SAW 283 that had three daughters so name lost Remember there were no standard spelling of names until late 1800. Names were spelt phonetically. In LA we had Spanish & Irish priest spelling Acadian & French names or translating phonetically to their own language. What do you have? I can check Hebert's SW LA next week Paul leslie gallant wrote: >Is there another way to spell Broussard >les >lesgall@isn.net >----- Original Message ----- >From: "CONNIE LANDRY" <CLLANDRY37@msn.com> >To: <ACADIAN-CAJUN-L@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2003 2:38 AM >Subject: Re: [ACADIAN-CAJUN] Grandfather of Eloy Broussard b 1780 > > > > >>Eloy Edouard 'dit petit" Broussard, son of (Joseph "Petit Joe" BROUSSARD & >>Marguerite SAVOIE) born in 1778; baptised on 23 April 1780 at Opelousas >> >> >Church, Vol. 1, page 33; died on 17 Sep. 1823 at Lafayette Parish, Louisiana >[Lafayette Ch.: Vol. 1, page 12].
