    3. Paul, First I need to correct a typo. Bebibo in the 3rd sentence should be Benibo. The priest was Spanish - the entry for the wedding of Pierre and Scholastique was made by Fr. Joseph Antonio Dias MASEDA The "b" is often used for a "v" in Spanish. The priest may also have thought that the surname was Babineau which was often spelled Babino. Also, the priest may have been translating Belli as "good" which would be bueno in Spanish, hence benibo [bo would sound like veau]. I often have to check dozens of spelling variations of both first and last names when trying to locate individuals. For example, Maximilien has numerous spellings as does Frederick which is both a first name and a surname. The problem is compounded by "dit names" - for example, Frederick was a dit name for Mathias and Mathias was a dit name for Frederick! As a last resort, I have to check every single entry by year - genealogy research is a painstaking process. SWLR shows that Pierre who married Scholastique Babineaux was the son of Abraham and Ana Benibo. Bebibo is shown only twice in the SWLR - for the marriage entries of Pierre and Scholastique. It is apparently a misspelling of Belliveau. The entries for the baptismal records of the children of Pierre and Scholastique apparently picked up the widowed surname of Ana [Agnes] which was Lanoue [Lanoux].
