Black Labatory of Archaeology at http://www.gbl.indiana.edu/archives/miamis11/M53-58_44a.html has some interesting entries in the Journal of Occurences in Canada for the period Oct. 1755- June 1756. I'm providing excerpts for the interesting ones re the Acadians. The entry re the 110 Acadians who were moved doesn't state where the Acadians were before being moved. The Miami Collection isn't indexed but there is lots of very interesting information in the collection... (page 401) Journal of Occurrences in Canada from October, 1755, to June, 1756. 1755, October... 110 Acadian families have been removed to the Island of St. John, and 40 to the river of that name, notwithstanding the efforts of the English to the contrary. 1756, January. Spies have been sent to Minas and Port Royal, who have reported that there were 400 Regulars at Chibouctou, now Halifax, and 80 at Port Royal.
