    3. One additional point. Lucie recently posted a reminder that no Acadians were actually deported to Louisiana. The first Acadians arrived in Louisiana in 1764 from New York after the war had ended and the Acadians had been given 18 months to leave the colonies. Others who had been imprisoned in Acadia and those who were in the colonies and the West Indies entered Louisiana between 1765-1770. In 1785, those who had been exiled to England and sent to France in 1763 and those who had been sent to France directly in 1758-1759 were allowed to go to Louisiana.
