Hi all, it must be all the rain we are getting up here in NC and I have mold on the brain, but was St. Charles Parish, La. under the Diocese of New Orleans in 1747 - 1767? If it was, could some nice person look for a marriage between Joseph MICHEL and Marie Agnes FALGOUT. Marie was born in 1747 in St. Charles Parish and was baptised in the Little Red Church. Using the average ago of 19-20 I am hoping that there may be a record of her marriage to Joseph. I am attempting to discover who the parents were of Joseph Michel. Thanks

I have Archdiocese of New Orleans Sacramental Records Volume 2 1751-1771 and what you want is not there but probably in Volume 3, which I do not have. In Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records Volume 2 1770-1803 pp. 542-543 is information on the marriages of four of the children of Joseph and Marie-Agnes: Eufrosyna married 1802 Hyacintha married 1794 Josef married 1797 Maria-Luisa married 1792 My guess is the marriage information and the birth information of the children are in Volume 3 of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. I have no information on the parents of Joseph Michel. Roger A. Rozendal rogroz@swbell.net
ADNO, v.3. has the following children for Joseph and Marie Agnes Falgot [Falgoust, Falgo, Forgou] born in St. John the Baptist Parish: Alexandre - 7/13/1782 Euphrosine - 7/2/1780 Hiachinte - 1/21/1776 , buried 9/18/1777 Josette Victoire - 3/15/1778 Magdelaine - buried 1/2/1779 Marie Louise - 2/24/1774 ADNO, v.4 has the burial of a son Luis on 8/8/1790 at age 25. Shown under Miquel [Michel] Note: ADNO, v.4 also has the marriage of Maria from St. Malo [Francois and Ana Daigle] to Jacob Dubois. ADNO, v.2. has the burial of Marguerite Martin on 1/29/1752 [not an Acadian]but there is the marriage of Pierre Michel [Jacques and Anne Breau], antive of Port Royal in Acadia to Marie Leger on March 3, 1766 ADNO, v.1 has several entries for St. Charles Borromeo and St. Louis Church for Michel so Michel was apparently a French [Swiss?] line in La. in early days as well as an Acadian line. Stanley LeBlanc http://www.thecajuns.com P.S. The Martin line was French, Acadian and Spanish. -----Original Message----- From: Roger A.
