Hello, I am looking for Pierre Lord (Laur) and Marguerite Leblanc. Their son, Charles Lord, is listed as being from Port Royal, Acadie. He married in 1783 so I'm guessing Pierre and Marguerite married around 1760 and were born about 1735. Does anyone know if the Lord (Laur) family is from this area? Thank you Sue Windsor, cT
Hi Sue - Julien Lord dit Lamontagne married Anne (Anne-Charlotte) Girouard abt 1675. They are the progenitors of the Lord/Laure/L'Or dit Lamontagne family. Julien and Anne had 9 children and this family was enumerated in various censuses in Port-Royal. According to Bona Arsenault, your Pierre Laure married twice. Born in 1724 to Alexandre Lord/Laure and Françoise Barillot, he married 1. Elizabeth Martin on 30 January 1747. She was the d/o Etienne and Marie Comeau. It is would seem that he married a second time to Marguerite LeBlanc abt 1760. He does not list her parents. Page 638 for Port-Royal. Because Bona states that "it seems" he would have married a second time - therefore, this would have to be confirmed before accepting as factual.
