    3. Hi, Server lists2 at RootsWeb, the server the A-C and LA-Cajun lists are on has been down since Oct 9. I sent a test message yesterday at 2:30pm when I heard we were back up. It has not come thru yet on list mode but has come thru to those who receive the digest version. The digest version also has a number of other messages that the list has not seen yet. There are still 77 lists that are down on lists2. They have to be manually fixed. Lists2 serves about 15,000 lists. The mail will be sent out in small batches mixing new with old. There will be no order to the old. RootsWeb said most should be out today. However, I've seen it take a week for old messages to come thru. The helpdesk is a good place to look first if you suspect a problem. The yellow box is there to help inform all of us. Also you should check password central for a current list of which mailing list you are on. This will tell you if you have bounced off a list. Several ISP's have been acting up lately. They take turns:-). It only takes 4 bounces for your email address to be removed from the list. http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ I was able to notify some of the list members here what was going on. But they were the ones with their addresses either in my address book or had messages in my box. I've never downloaded a list of the addresses here. I can and should, but one problem with that is new people come and others go. 500 people are also a lot to try to email individually. I do plan to add the helpdesk and password central links to our taglines and to administrivia for our digest subscribers to help remind you all of where to check first. As always you are welcomed to email me and ask also. In a situation like this it is better to contact me at mbousman7@cox.net rather than ACADIAN-CAJUN-admin@rootsweb.com because those messages will be help in limbo along with the list mail. I haven't heard of any lost mail, but have heard from others that some mail that was sent off during this time did bounce back to them. With a little bit of luck the list will catch up soon and be able to function normally again. Please have patience with RootsWeb and us as we recoupe. Just delete the why am I not getting messages emails and don't sweat them. It's natural for us to want to know what's happening. Thanks, Margy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margy Bousman" <mbousman7@cox.net> To: <ACADIAN-CAJUN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2003 2:37 PM Subject: Testing-admin > Hi, > > We are supposed to be back up. 1. [ACADIAN-CAJUN] Genealogy of JUDE AMAND LANDRY m. MARGARET SLOANE
    2. Roger I received an inquiry from a Beverly at: bsfnorwood@aol.com on the genealogy of JUDE AMAND LANDRY the son of Amand Landry & Pelagie Caissie) bn 1848 at Memramcook, N.B - died 21 June 1919 in Lynn Massachusetts - Married 30 July 1873 at Boston Massachusetts to MARGARET SLOANE - bn 1846 in St. John, N.B. - died 3 April 11928 at Lynn Massachusetts - I noticed on the "Landry Genealogy Forum" , in answer to an inquiry by Rosemary White, you listed the names of the children of Allain Landry and Anastasie Dupuis, which included the name of Amand Landry m. Pélagie Caissy, who were the parents of JUDE AMAND LANDRY. Do you have the complete genealogy of this family? Which Rene Landry does Amand descend from? Who were Allain Landry's parents, etc. Her family line is: JOSEPH LANDRY (dit Lapin) born: abt. 1800 Memramcook, N.B. , Married: 11-18-1823 ESTHER DOIRON they had several children, among them a son (my gr-gr-grandfather): GEORGE JOSEPH LANDRY Born: September 5, 1830 Married: June 15, 1853 EUPHEMIE GOTHRO/GAUTREAU Euphemie died February 1878 (I don't know when my gr-gr-grandfather, George died? Any possibility you have information on this line that you could pass along to me?) George Joseph Landry & Euphemie Gautreau had several children. Among them, (my great-grandfather) Stanislas Wilfred Landry He was born July 09, 1863 Memramcook, N.B. He died February 16, 1938 in Lynn, Massachusetts I have everything I need on him. I just wanted to let you know which line I am a decendant of. Back to the subject of Jude Amand Landry. I hope my information helps. Also, if you are doing any research on any specific Landry that you know lived in Massachusetts and you are looking for a marriage or death date, let me know. I have looked up many "Landry" records that are not in my family line and perhaps something you are looking for might be amongst my papers. I can't promise I'll have what you are looking for, but it won't hurt to ask. I hope to hear back from you and that you might be able to help me with the date of death for my gr-gr-grandfather, George Joseph Landry. Don Landry Don2717@aol.com

Felicite Berthelot Felicite Berluchot Felicite Berluchon I'm familiar with the surname Berthelot. Can anyone shed anymore light on the origin of the name? Is it a result of misspelling one of the above original names? I don't think I've ever seen it in the Acadian list. But it would be French, right? Any details would be appreciated. Thanks, Margaret
