    3. As newcomers trace their lines upward or as members trace peripheral lines, there is a need to identify the names of spouses and children of the Acadian Progenitors. In order to alleviate the need to repost information, I've started a new service to prepare Family Group Reports for the Acadian and Early Louisiana Progenitors. 2. Uncharted Families
    3. A great place to get the basics on the earliest Acadians is: http://www.umoncton.ca/etudeacadiennes/centre/genea.html Click on familles acadiennes and it will take you to a surname list. From there you will be able to get most of the information you need for the base of your genealogy research. The names, dates etc. are in French, however names are names and the dates are pretty easy to figure out. If you have any problems with what something means - the members of this list are awesome in their willingness to do so and to share whatever information they have. Hope it helps....I know that I had to print everything out so that I could go over it again and again to be sure I didn't miss any tidbit of information. I then made sure that I put the pages in plastic sheet covers and attached them through the holes with safety pins and placed them in file folders so it was easier to find everything without having 10 binders out at a time. 3. Bill Casey - a member of Parliament, worked to have approved by Parliament that the land of Beaubassin be preserved as an historic place to be part of Parks Canada. He envisions the building of a replica village such as Beaubassin may have been. Beaubassin was approved as such in July 2005. Bill has set up a web site and I would encourage everyone to write to Bill and support his effort. Beaubassin was a very important part of our Acadian history and this is a move in the right direction. http://www.billcasey.ca/Beaubassin%20Living%20History%20Page.html his email address: [email protected] Lucie LeBlanc Consentino Acadian Ancestral Home at <http://www.acadian-home.org> www.acadian-home.org American-Canadian Genealogical Society Drouin Primary Records at <http://www.acgs.org/> www.acgs.org Centre for Acadian Studies - Moncton University <http://www.umoncton.ca/etudeacadiennes/centre/cea.html> www.umoncton.ca/etudeacadiennes/centre/cea.html
