    2. Uncharted Families
    3. Good morning; I think a CMA in France would be amazing. I also agree with Stanley that for those who are currently elderly - time isn't always on their side. I think it would be wonderful to have a gathering of Acadian descendents in Louisiana....not a CMA per se, but a very large family reunion. I say go for it - I'd love to go....and no doubt it would be an experience of a lifetime for all. While I understand the logic of having the CMAs in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick and the disadvantage of a CMA in Louisiana in the month of August, I believe that there is a need to have a reunion in Louisiana in early to mid-June in 2007. This wouldn't conflict with the 2009 CMA and would also allow another reunion in Louisiana in 2012 which wouldn't conflict with the 2014 CMA. The reunion could be for the Acadians in Louisiana and the else where who wish to attend. Perhaps it could be named Acadian Reunion Louisiana 2009. As Dr. Don Landry noted a while back, many of our elderly cousins can't wait until 2019; and, there isn't any commitment to have the CMA-2019 in Louisiana. 2. Lucie LeBlanc Consentino
    3. The first CMA held was in 1994 and it was held in the Moncton area. In 1999 it was held in Louisiana. In 2004 it was held in Nova Scotia and all Acadian descendants returned as one for the first time since the Deportation of 1755 to the land of their Ancestors. It was decided to have the 2009 CMA in Caraquet which is in northern New Brunswick – New Brunswick is a large province. Being further north it will likely make it easier for the Acadians of Quebec to attend as well. When the decision to hold CMA 2009 in Caraquet, the Acadian Peninsula, was made, other places considered were Regions of Poitiers et Nantes, France; City of Québec; Evangeline Region of Prince Edward Island. These applications were evaluated by the SNA (societe nationale de l’acadie) committee formed by representatives of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Louisiana. That CMA 2009 would be held in Caraquet was announced in February 2004 only six months prior to CMA 2004. There is a link on the CMA 2009 web site with information on the criteria for choosing a location where the next CMA will be held. 3. Stanley - there is no way that the CMA for 2014 has been set. The place where CMA will be held is chosen not too long before the CMA on the docket takes place and it is announced at the closing of CMA - so I don't know who is saying that 2014 is set because it really is not. 3. All Acadians came from Europe - what we can't do is tie back to specific lines and locations for some such as Daniel LeBlanc because records were destroyed. Noblemen did go to New France and to Colonial Louisiana; and, the British gave minor Titles to Alexander and others in Nova Scotia. Savoy was a Region and not everyone who was from Savoy was a member of Nobility. 1. Parents of Augustin BENOIT
    2. Andy
    3. Hi all, I have found that the parents of Augustin BENOIT, were Clement & Anne COMEAU, he was born about 1740 in Grand Pre and Francois TERRIOT, daughter of Pierre & Marguerite GUERIN, [Source: Robichaud, Exiles in St. Malo, v.2, p. 776, marriage verified]. Would anyone with a copy of Robichaud's first volume of Exiles verify the parents of Augustin. He {Robichaud] references Family #61. Thanks Andy
