He was the son of Pierre Gourdeau (deceased) and Marguerite Bourgeois. (This seems to be an error as his Mother was Marguerite Robichaux. The priest seems to have gotten confused and wrote his wife's mother's name twice.) Her parents were Joseph LeBlanc and Marguerite Bourgeois. It appears that the parents of Pierre Gourdeau were from Québec and Pierre Gourdeau emigrated to the Annapolis-Royale area before 1724.
