    3. I got a request for (70) Etienne family. This may not be complete. I have not review it in a while so Corrections, Comments & Questions welcome Notice daughter Anne who married Armand Melanson and is "The One We Left Behind" We do not know where the family was for awhile after arrival in Louisiana. One theory was they tried Southwest Louisiana before coming to the river. My other LeBlanc, on the River, (69) Joseph next email. ================== Modified Register for (70) ETIENNE LE BLANC Estevan First Generation 1. (70) ETIENNE LE BLANC Estevan[1,2,3] was born 11 Nov 1722 and was baptized[4] 15 Nov 1722 in St-Charles-aux-Mines Catholic Church, Grand-Pre, Acadia. He died 9 Apr 1766/14 Sep 1769 in St James, LA. Baptism: spo Charles Dupuot & Marguerite LeBlanc Location: 1754-1755 Petitcoudiac: Etienne Leblanc, femme, 1 fils, 4 filles 1761 Caeaquet: Etienne Leblanc, femme, 3 fils, 3 filles 1766 Cabahannocer 1769 Cabahannocer vve 1770 Ascension . I had most of the information there but I've revamped to explain the discrepancies in numbers and provided the source documents. . The information, in conjuntion with sacramental records, should be useful in determining arrival dates in-between the various census records. For example, my ancestor Etienne LeBlanc wasn't with the February 1765 Acadians. Although, additional Acadians arrived in May, June, August, September and October 1765, I can reasonably determine that he wasn;t with these groups because 2 children were baptized on 12/2/1765 in New Orleans. This indicates very strongly that he arrived with the group that arrived in late Novemeber 1765 since the first thing Acadians did was to have their children baptized and marriages revalidated. . Stanley LeBlanc 1/6/2005 http://www.thecajuns.com . See my post re the letter dated November 26, 1765 which states that Acadians had arrived in May, June, August, September, October, a few days before the letter and more were expected in a few days. Since Etienne ahd children baptized in New Orleans on 12/2/1765, he most likely arrived with th alte November 1765 group. SAW recently pointed out that the first thing the Acadians did was to have their children Stanley LeBlanc 1/5/2005 . I agree with Stanley that most likely Etienne LeBlanc arrived in Louisiana with the November 1765 group from Halifax. . Here is what I have on the imprisonment of Etienne in Acadia: . Acadian Coast Census 9 Aug 1761 Estienne LeBlanc 8 members, 1 man, 1 woman, 3 boys, 3 girls . Fort Cumberland (Old Fort Beausejour) 24 August 1763 Etienne LeBlanc Yzabelle idem Simon Etienne Mathurin Joseph Anne Margueritte Magdelaine ------------9 . Joseph was born 19 Jul 1762. . As for Joseph LeBlanc married to Isabelle Gaudet, this is what I have for their imprisonment in Acadia: Ft. Edward 11 Oct 1761 Joseph LeBlanc 6 members . Ft. Edward 12 Jul 1762 Joseph LeBlanc 6 members [Joseph is noted as remaining after the men had been moved to Halifax as being too sick to move] . Ft. Edward 9 Aug 1762 Joseph LeBlanc 6 members [Joseph is noted as remaining after the men had been moved to Halifax as being too sick to move] . 11 Oct 1762 Joseph LeBlanc 6 members . There are several Joseph LeBlancs at Acadian Coast on 9 Aug 1761, but I haven't been able to pin them down yet. . Roger 1/6/2005 . There is still the question of "where" they arrived from. Since Joseph was born in 1762 and Marie-Marthe-Elisabeth was born April 15, 1765 and both bt on 12/2/1765 in New Orleans, they had to be in a location that didn't have a priest. . According to the Declarations at Belle-Ile-en-Mer in Feb. 1767 by Charles and Simon LeBlanc, Joseph & family had passed to the Mississippi. . I recall reading something [perhaps on the Pembroke list by Paul Delaney] that Joseph had joined his cousin Etienne in going to Louisiana. I'll check asap. . Stanley 1/6/2005 .
