C Genealogists are not authors. We don't create history... We evaluate and document it. > Date: Sun, 17 May 2015 22:31:40 -0400 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [ACADIAN] Hermogene Boudreaux, parents > From: [email protected] > > > Hi Paul and all those researching the Boudreaux family in Louisiana. > > In the effort to make some sense from these records, I have some questions regarding Hermogene Boudreaux, the son of Joseph and Eulalie Dugas, and records as noted in the Baton Rouge Diocesan Archives series. > > 1) Is the Hermogene-Cursio baptism in 1815, really for the son of Joseph and Eulalie Dugas or a Joseph and Marie-Modeste Dubois? Has anyone actually seen this record in a register (not just the typed BRDA version)? Who are his actual parents? Rootsweb has conflicting info in that some claim his descent from the first couple, while others from the second. > > 2) Is the second marriage of Hermogene Boudreaux to Marie Aucoin on 3 Nov 1841 at Plattenville, the actual date in the register? It mentions he was the "widower of Marie Barilleaux", but how can this be since this Marie Barilleaux gave birth to a daughter Marie-Louise in Plattenville the following year on 30 Dec 1842! Is there an error in his second marriage date and should it be 1842? Has anyone ever checked this record in the original parish registers, rather than just accept the dates given in the BRDA version? One can't be a "widower" until the wife has actually died, can one? I think this may be a transcribing error, but if someone with access to the actual record could recheck it for accuracy, it would be greatly appreciated. > > Thanks, > Dennis Boudreau > > > . > ------------------------------- > To check our Archive > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/acadian/ > ------------------------------- > To subscribe to the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'subscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message.
