She died on 3 May 1788, buried next day in L'Acadie, , Quebec, Canada (PRDH). Location: Spelling variations: Garceau, Garseaut The ancestors going back from this couple are from a family tree at Ancestry.com by warden gorden: [email protected] The tree is titled Gordon/Durrenberger/ Genealogy. Brother Bernard was not able to get farther back from this point. . Honorius Lord and Apolline Garceau were married in exile in New England around 1765. I do not know the actual date. The marriage was validated in Canada on 29 September, 1767. Brother Bernard listed the birth locations of the five children with Apolline Garceau as all in exile in New England. The Acadians were given grant to return to Quebec, Canada in 1767. Many indviiduals, as with this couple, settled south of Montreal around LaPairre and L'Acadie. This couple, as noted, were in Canada to have their marriage validated in September 1767. This opens to question I think where these last four children were born (approximate birth years 1770-1779). The baptismal records were not found for those children by Brother Bernard, so New England is possible. Suggesting New England is the fact that Brother Bernard found conditional basptismal records at L'Aacdie, Quebec for oldest two of these children in July 1787. Their actual birth dates were given in the baptismal record. The baptismal records, some marriage and burial records were found and transcribed by Brother Bernard for the children by Susanne Lafaille and Marguerite Babin. I did not transcribe myself. Our descendant was the oldest child by Apolline Garceau, Jean Baptiste. His records were transcribed. . Brother Bernard translation of the marriage validation of Honorius Lord and Apolline Garceau. Birth: Feb. 8, 1742 Port Royal Nova Scotia, Canada Death: May 3, 1788 L'Acadie Quebec, Canada . Appoline is the daughter of Daniel Garceau and Anne Doucet. She was baptized on 9 February 1742, in Port Royal. She arrived in Connecticut in 1745, at the age of three, when her family was exiled from Quebec. . According to the Becancour, Quebec Vital & Church Records: . "In the year 1767, on the 29th of September, we, undersigned missionary priest of the Parish of the Nativite of Becancour, validated the marriage between Honore Lor and Appolline Garsau, both Acadians, who had been married by Francois Landry in Angleterre (translates to England)". . Brother Bernard and Steve A White both state that this parish record is in error, that they were married in New England. This is most likely correct, since Appoline's family was exiled to Connecticut. His son Honore was born 5 Mar 1766 in New England, died 5 Apr 1834 I L'Acadie, St-Jean,Quebec, Canada [according to a GEDCOM posted at Family Tree DNA]. . His 1stwife's usual (conventional) spelling should be Apolline. She died on3 May 1788, buried next day in L'Acadie, , Quebec, Canada (PRDH). . The PRDH says that Francois LAFAILLE/LAFAYE was born about 1744 in Acadia, and gives no further information on his parents or antecedents in Quebec. Birth is based on his age of 80 at death in 1824. The Acadians were given grant to return to Quebec, Canada in 1766. His records were transcribed. . The Massachusetts Legislature sent a delegation to Quebec in March 1766. The delegation obtained a permit from the English Governor Murray for the displaced Acadians to immigrate to Quebec Province. One of our direct ancestors, Alexis Brault, was in this delegation. 19 M vii. Charles Garceau was born 11 Apr 1744 and was christened[62] 11 Apr 1744 in St-Jean-Baptiste Church, Port-Royal, Acadia.
