John François, acclaimed author of 6 historical fiction novels and numerous short stories, will be the speaker at the Imperial St. Landry Genealogical and Historical Society on 10 January 2015 at 10 o’clock on the second floor of the St. Parish Library at 212 Grolee St. in Opelousas. François will discuss his historical fiction novel, Revolutions, which grew out of his family research several years ago. This is his sixth book. The story takes place between New Orleans and Paris in the spring and summer of 1848. It is a departure from his previous novels which were set in Louisiana during the War Between the States and the aftermath, and in the Ohio valley of the 1760's at the end of the French and Indian War and the beginning of Pontiac’s Rebellion.
