From: LOUIS JR MIER Sent: Wed, Mar 18, 2015 10:09 pm Subject: Saulnier/Sonnier and Guilbeau arrival in St. Martinville cancelled for Saturday Dear Sonnier family I just spoke to Marty Guidry and the Festival at St. Martinville HAS BEEN CANCELLED because of the rain. Please contact any members of your family who were planning to attend. The Sonniers and Guilbeaus will be honored on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at St. Martinville for Le Grand Reveile Acadien (Oct. 3 - 12, 2015). I don't know if the pirogues will be available during the week, but we can certainly plan to meet as a family. And...some of our Saulnier/Sonier Canadian friends could be invited to attend. The Sonniers and Guilbeaus will definitely be honored next year at the March Festival, 2016. So we now have two "shots" at getting together in St. Martinville. Although I'm disappointed about Saturday, we all know that God knows best what's good for us. So, mark your calendars for the Grand Reveil in October. We're looking at Thursday at St. Martinville, Friday for Genealogy Day in Lafayette, and Sunday for the beautiful Mass and Tintamarre in Girard Park. Also, chefs from Abbeville will be on site cooking their fabulous BIG omelet (lots of fun to watch!). MUCH MORE ON ALL OF THIS LATER. Some of you have already agreed to help pay the expense of getting a table at the genealogy day: Louis and Kathy Mier, Ella and Lovess Hebert, Clara S. Darbonne. and Verlie Sonnier. Please let me know if you are willing to pitch in. It will cost about $300, but participants last year said it was a BIG SUCCESS. More on Le Grand Reveil Acadien later. We really need to work hard at getting Uncle Cleophas's family involved in these activities. A big thank you to Clara, Verlie , Preston, Lovess and the two Ellas and all who were working hard to make our day Saturday memorable. Also, thank you to all of you who were planning to join us. Can't say that we didn't try!!! At least, we have our stuff ready for October now, huh??? :) Don't forget Easter cards to all those who are in nursing homes or homebound! Let's continue to pray for each other! "WE COME FROM A LONG LINE OF LOVE...AND PRAYERS.
