Probably, what they can not sell. Probably cost her thousands of dollars and the family would like to get some of it back. They are trying to get the books into the hand of those that would appreciate & use. I have also shared with several genealogical collections. -----Original Message----- From: Mary Karabin <[email protected]> To: Paul L LeBlanc <[email protected]>; acadian <[email protected]> Sent: Fri, Jul 24, 2015 8:40 am Subject: Re: [ACADIAN] Quebec & Early French Genealogist’s book collection for sale Do you think the family would consider donating them to a state library?! Much of the collection is about the United States and Canada, especially Quebec and Ontario, and many items are unique or out of print. Genealogical societies, historical societies, and genealogists in Canada and the United States may want to take a look at what is available. You will find a wide range of genealogy books, from Quebec notaries to Loyalists, African American genealogy to British genealogy. The family has categorized the collection into 91 boxes and would like to sell them as box lots. The titles are listed in Joy Reisinger books. Ms. Reisinger lectured across the United States and Canada on genealogy research methods and Quebec resources. She founded the journal, Lost in Canada?, and, with Elmer Courteau, wrote The King's Daughters, a book about the Filles du roi in New France. She was a former vice-president of the Board for Certification of Genealogists. If interested in making an offer for one or more of the boxes, contact Barbara Reisinger at [email protected] I expect they want to find a good home for the books and would need to cover at least the shippings costs. Thanks to Brenda Dougall Merriman for the tip. ------------------------------- To check our Archive http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/acadian/ ------------------------------- To subscribe to the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'subscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message.
