Two more of us are inducted. I met Shirley when I was the first of my families to "return" to Bayou Tech for the Acadian Memorial Festival. Returned? My Jean Dugas, after signing the Dautrive Compact, died in the Fall of 1765 and the remnants of three families fled to "The River" as one. (There is also a theory that Etienne LeBlanc's family first tried Tech before finally settling on Bayou Lafourche) On an Assumption I had returned for the celebration. I was taking a break out front when a delivery driver asked me for directions. I must have looked like a "local". I nicely explained that my family had "moved away".
