    3. Hi Karen, Cecil & listers,. Thanks so much for the information ....much more than I expected and am very happy for that.. Karen, the article by Lillian Bourgeois you quoted touches my heartstrings. re Marguerite & Germain. That helps me to know there was some happiness to come after the expulsion. Maybe that could be made into a movie..??.(smile) Thanks again, Marsha ----- Original Message ----- From: KATheriot@aol.com To: acadian@rootsweb.com Cc: marshaladner@att.net Sent: Saturday, August 14, 2010 2:19 PM Subject: Re: Bourgeois Marsha & List, Marguerite BOURGEOIS was born 10 May 1741 at Port Royal, Acadia, the daughter of Claude (10) BOURGEOIS & Marie LE BLANC. Baptized on 11 May 1741 (see Nova Scotia Archives & Records Management, "An Acadian Parish Remembered," http://www.gov.ns.ca/nsarm/virtual/acadian/archives.asp?ID=2473). She was on the 1763 census near her parents, with her husband, in Massachusetts. Six children were born from 1764 to 1777. After her death, her widower remarried to Marie Marguerite LE BLANC, widow of Germain BERGERON, who only married once. In GENERAL LIST OF ACADIAN FAMILIES SENT TO CONNECTICUT [sic for Massachusetts] who wish to go to France dated 14 August 1763 is found: The family of Claude BOURGEOIS composed of three persons [Claude Bourgeois Marie Le Blanc, his wife Germain, son] Listed next door is: Joseph CAUGRAY, his wife 2 persons [Joseph Gaudet Marguerite Le Blanc, his wife] ACADIAN-CAJUN@rootsweb.com Posted by Roger Rozendal in Dec 2007. ---------------------------------- Earl C. Joseph GODAIT, son of Claude & Catherine FORE, native of Port Royal, married 10 Dec 1765 to Marguerite BOURGEOIS, daughter of Claude & Marguerite BLANC, native of Port Royal [Acadia]. Witnesses: Joseph TERRIO; Simon GOTTEREAUX (SLC, B2, 189) & (M2, 20). "Among the interesting Acadians who came here [to St. James, Louisiana] was Germain Bergeron. He was affianced to an Acadian girl in Nova Scotia. They were separated during the expulsion and were united and married in St. James." [A footnote refers to the list of Acadians who married at Cabahannocer.] On list of the Acadians Married since the Establishment of Kabahannosé, since Easter 1768: Germain BERGERON & Marguerite le BLANC, on 3 May 1768. [However, Marie Marguerite would only have been around 4 years old at the time of the 1755 expulsion.] This Marie Marguerite LE BLANC married 2nd on 21 Nov 1796 to Joseph GAUDET, son of Claude (28) GAUDET & Catherine Josephe FOREST, widower of Marguerite BOURGEOIS.
