Lucille Boudreaux Dunphy June 14, 2021 - December 25, 2009 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette for Lucille Boudreaux Dunphy,88, who passed away peacefully on Christmas evening, Friday, December 25, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.Reverend Monsignor Charles Mallet will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Tyler Dunphy and Lauren Stefanski. Giftbearers will be Anne Corbello, Peggy Stefanski and Mary Lucille Sims. Eulogist will be Mary Lucille Sims. Jodi Bollich, vocalist, accompanied on the organ by Deborah Duhon, will sing for the services, "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Shepherd Me, O God", "Ave Maria", "Be Not Afraid" and "On Eagles' Wings".Survivors include two daughters, Diane Dunphy Pryor of McKinney, TX. and Kathleen Dunphy Corbello and her husband, Bennie of Lafayette, LA.; two sons, Grover Lee Dunphy and his wife, Leslie of Lafayette, LA. and Robert Orville Dunphy and his wife, Kay of Lafayette, LA.; eight grandchildren, Woody Pryor, Stephen Pryor, Lee Dunphy, Brad Dunphy, John Corbello, Brandon Dunphy, Tyler Dunphy and Anne Corbello; a host of great grandchildren; and her special nieces, Mary Lucille Sims and Peggy Stefanski.She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Lee Dunphy, her parents, Rodolph Joseph and Leodia Marie Bernard Boudreaux and one sister, Lily Mae Andrus.A native of Crowley, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Mrs. Dunphy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church Community in Lafayette. Mrs. Dunphy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Anyone knowing Lucille was aware of her two passions in life. Her first passion had to be her four "perfect" children, a process which began with a train ride to California to become a war bride in 1943. As her child-raising career came to a close, she joined the family business which quickly and lastingly became passion number two. Lovingly referred to by her co-workers as "Ms. D", she led the charge through three computer system changes and only announced her self-imposed retirement in April of this year at the age of 87. Pallbearers will be Woody Pryor, Stephen Pryor, Lee Dunphy, Brad Dunphy, John Corbello, Brandon Dunphy and Tyler Dunphy.
