Obituary for Claire Dean Martin Claire Dean Martin, 72, died on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at her residence in Lafayette surrounded by her family. Survivors include one daughter, Carmen Martin; one son, Tommy Martin; two step-children, Debbie M. de Gravelle and John Martin III; and six grandchildren, Ashley Martin, Andrea M. Jones, John Martin, Amanda Jasaitis, Amy Trahan and Andy Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin, Jr.; her parents Duplex and Edia Maria Bertrand Landry; one sister, Daisy Cuntz; and two brothers, Edwin Landry and Dave Landry. A native of Erath, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Mrs. Martin was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She loved gardening, tending to her flowers and worked for Les Amis Florist for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
