The only expression I can think of "mal peigné, which literally means not combed".Also is the term for unkempt. Hi, I have a term my grandma supposedly said that is no doubt stronger than the "dirty britches" she told her kids it meant. If you're good w/vulgar/profane Cajun slang pre-1950s, could you e-mail me off list & I'll write what I think it sounds like? :) (don't know the exact spelling) Thought maybe I shouldn't post on the list as a couple of people have said it's not good but were too polite to give a precise translation. LOL thanks! "mal peigné" M A (as in bad) L PAY GNAY means "badly combed" where I come from but it usually implies that "you look like hell" But I've also heard it used to describe someone who lacks manners... uncouth... uncivilized ............Gary On Sat, Aug 7, 2010 at 4:35 PM, Liz Hall Morgan <hallroots@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > Hi, > I have a term my grandma supposedly said that is no doubt stronger than the > "dirty britches" she told her kids it meant. > If you're good w/vulgar/profane Cajun slang pre-1950s, could you e-mail me off > list & I'll write what I think it sounds like? :) (don't know the exact > spelling) > Thought maybe I shouldn't post on the list as a couple of people have said it's > not good but were too polite to give a precise translation.
