Thanks Karen. Another possibility is Joseph's sister Jeanne I have seen several cases where the JE was lost and the person reported as Anne. If (1)Pierre (SR) & unknown Doucet were still alive they would have been reported in the census of 1686 & possibly the 1708. In 1705 Unknown would have been at least 65 (first surviving child born abt. 1656 She would have been born 1640 or earlier). I do not think the family would have taken her across the mountains to attend the baptizem. Paul Le B l'Ascension Louisiane -----Original Message----- From: KATheriot@aol.com Sorry Gary, But the wonderful online records from "An Acadian Parish Remembered" do not reveal the grandparents of Joseph LEJEUNE. The godmother "mar(r)aine" was Anne LE JEUNE, probably the aunt of the child, daughter of Martin LEJEUNE & his Amerindian wife. She was about 18 years old at the time of the ceremonial baptism, and a mother herself. At this time, women were always noted in records with their maiden (and only) names throughout life. Anne LEJEUNE would have been born a LEJEUNE, even though now married to a LABAUVE. Karen Theriot Reader
