Andre & Gary, This did not seem to go through when I sent it on Dec 6, so I'll repeat. This Ane LEJEUNE is in SAW's Dictionnaire on p. 1054, as LEJEUNE #1 c. ----- Sorry Gary, But the wonderful online records from "An Acadian Parish Remembered" do not reveal the grandparents of Joseph LEJEUNE. The godmother "mar(r)aine" was Anne LE JEUNE, probably the aunt of the child, daughter of Martin LEJEUNE & his Amerindian wife. She was about 18 years old at the time of the ceremonial baptism, and a mother herself. At this time, women were always noted in records with their maiden (and only) names throughout life. Anne LEJEUNE would have been born a LEJEUNE, even though now married to a LABAUVE. Karen Theriot Reader
