Marsha, Google Earth can be downloaded for free from http://www.google.com/intl/en/earth/index.html Google Earth shows me Isle of Pines in 4 states, MN, NY, VA, and SC. Just a thought, could your Bergeron have been deported to South Carolina and remained there until the Acadians began to settle Louisiana. They could have then joined friends and family in LA.
