Mardha Thibodaux is now in Lafourche Parish Any idea when Lafourche interior split into LaFourche & Terrebonne. What first names & last names of heads of household are we looking for? Best guess of year of birth? The 1830 & 1840 census only had the name of the head of household & counts in age groupings. Hi P Am trying to determine the correct last name/spelling of the following head of household. I am finding it spelled many ways. I am totally confused as to which parishes aree involved at this point. Anyhow.......Jean Bapt. Adolph Damien/Danion/Damion(HH) ? m Marie Benoit 1841 Thibodeaux Church. Jean Bapt. Adolph Damion b1819 s/o Vincent Danion & Victoire Dugas who m in Plattenville in 1817 Marie Benoit b1820, bt. Thibodeaux Church, d/o Joseph Benoit & Justine Thibodeaux. Jean B. Adolph Damion & Marie Benoit had a daughter born 1845, bt. Thibodeaux Ch. named Edmire/Elmire Danien/Damien who m Jean Washington Bergeron in 1854, Houma. The above daughter Edmire is the person whose family supposedly came from Isle de Pines. Hope this is not too confusing.
