OBITUARY OF ROGER JOSEPH GAUDET, extracted by Eileen Horan, from the Wednesday December 22nd 2010 edition of the Prince Albert Daily Herald: Gaudet, Roger Joseph passed away peacefully on December 20th at the age of 80 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Roger was born in St. Isidore de Bellevue on March 6th, 1930 to Jean and Germaine (Bachand) Gaudet. He married Rolande (Gaudet) on October 18th, 1951 and raised 6 children. At an early age, Roger demonstrated an aptitude for mechanics and opened Bellevue Garage with the help of his father and later on with his brother Gilles. He later continued this business with his three sons. His greatest love was his family. He enjoyed many family fishing trips, playing cards with family and friends as well as curling in the winter and golf in the summer. Roger was also an active member in the development and growth of his community. He leaves to mourn his passing: his spouse of 59 years, Rolande; his children: François, Bellevue; Constant, St. Louis, (James, Joel and their mother Norine); Jean (Laurel), Bellevue (Adele, Camille, D.J.); Claire (Lyle) Bassingthwaite, Warman (Tiffiny, Jordin, Stefanie); Lucie (Randy) Altman, Saskatoon (Jared, Sean); and Michelle, Saskatoon. He is also survived by his brothers, Gilles (Lucille) and Sylvain (Charlene); his sisters: Lydia Gaudet, Roseline Deault and Nicole (Don) Brooks; his brothers-in-law: Gilles (Monique) Tremblay, Rev. Ghislain Gaudet and Edouard Deault; his sisters-in-law: Hélène Gaudet, Thérèse Gaudet, Yvette Gaudet, Sylvianne Gaudet and Camilla Gaudet. He was predeceased by: an infant grandson, Lorne; his parents, Jean in 1969 and Germaine in 2005, his step-father Edmond Bétemps; his parents-in-law, Hector and Armandine Gaudet; his sister Annette; his brothers: Ronald (Alice) and Fernand; brothers-in-law and sisters in law: Jean-Camil Gaudet, Jean Deault, Elaine Gaudet, Marie-Ange (Pierre Gareau, Adrien Hamel), Anida Deault, Henri Gaudet, Andreas Gaudet, Noëlla (Alphonse) Jobin, Alain Gaudet, Ovide (Laurianne) Gaudet, Emile Gaudet and Alcide Gaudet. Prayer Vigil will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Both Services will be held in St. Isidore de Bellevue Roman Catholic Church. About 1909]. After the death of her Mother [Lydia Fortin], Germaine's father married Mary-Marie-Jeanne-Alma Gaudet [1875-1961] on June 15th 1914 in Bellevue, Saskatchewan - the Widow of Alphonse Ashby; and a daughter of Ernest Gaudet [1850-1929] and Cordelie Ethier [1851-1926]. Roger's Parents were married June 10th 1925 at the St Isidore de Bellevue Roman Catholic Church in Bellevue, Saskatchewan. After the death of his Father Jean Marie Ulric Gaudet, his Mother {Germaine] married Edmond Felix Betemps [1907-1991] in 1983 at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, a son of Jacques Betemps and Marie Cecile Serazine Amiot. Germaine passed away in the Goodwill Manor at the age of 97 years, in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. Siblings of Roger Joseph Gaudet: 1. Lydia Therese Gaudet [still living] married Jean Camille Gaudet [1919-2005] in 1947 in Bellevue, Saskatchewan. He was a son of Hector Gaudet [1892-1968] and Armandine Gareau [1898-1983]. Lydia and Jean Camille had six children. 2. Ronald Gaudet [1926-1994] married Alice Marie Albertine Deault [1926-2005] in 1948 in Bellevue, Saskatchewan. She was a daughter of Edmond Deault [1893-1960] and Antoinette Legault [1900-1988]. They had nine children. 3. Roseline Gaudet [still living] married Jean Deault [1923-2008] in 1948 in Bellevue, Saskatchewan, a son of Edmond Deault and Antoinette Legault. They had nine children. 4. Gilles Gaudet [still living] married Elaine Boyer [1938-1991] in 1958 in St Louis, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Pierre Francis Boyer [b.1908; died unknown] and Elsie Tournine [b. circa 1910; died unknown]. They had five children. 5. Fernand Gaudet [1933-2005] married Helene Lajeunesse [still living] in 1915 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Roland Lajeunesse [1903-1989] and Beatrice Marie Bilodeau [1908-2005]. They had three children. 6. Annette Gaudet [1936-1963] married Gilles Tremblay [still living] in 1957 in Bellevue, Saskatchewan, a son of Arthur Tremblay [b.1904; died unknown] and Leonie Duret [1909-1964]. They had three children. Gilles later married Monique Rocher in 1975. 7. Nicole Gaudet [still living] married Alfred Boutin [still living] in Domremy, Saskatchewan, a son of Jean Marie Boutin [b. circa 1909; died unknown] and Irene Tessier [b.1911; died unknown]. They had two children; later being divorced. Nicole married Donald Brooks. 8. Sylvain Gaudet [still living] married Charlene Johnson in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Curtis Virgil Johnson [1917-2007] and Odelie Sidonie Marie Benoti [1920-2009]. They had one son. Roger Joseph Gaudet married Rolande Gaudet in 1951 at the St Isidore de Bellevue Roman Catholic Church in Bellevue, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Hector Gaudet [1892-1968] and Armandine Gareau [1898-1983]. Roger's Father, Jean Marie Ulric Gaudet, was a son of Edmond Gaudet [1850-1909] and Delvina Lepage [1861-1925]. Rolande's Father, Hector Gaudet, was a son of Camille Gaudet [1852-1915] and Marie Louise Lepage [1854-1894]. Edmond and Camille Gaudet were Brothers, being sons of Elie Gaudet [b. circa 1820; died unknown] and Adeline Dupuis [b. circa 1827; died unknown]. Roger and Rolande lived in the district of St Isidore de Bellevue, Saskatchewan. They had six children. 1. Francois Gaudet never married 2. Constant Gaudet married Norine Roy. They had two sons. 3. Jean Pierre Gaudet married Laurel Bertrand. They had three children. 4. Claire Gaudet married Lyle Bassingthwaite. They had three children. 5. Lucie Gaudet married Randy Altman.
