Marsha Below is 4 generations of Joseph-Rafael ancestors. If anyone has more details & sources please share. It depends on what & how your software has & works I put The alternative names in the suffix field (where you would normally put PhD or MD) I also put the occupations there. Other things I do. In the Prefix field (Mr, Dr) I put the number that individual. A modified Henry number, SAW family number, or others like Robicheaux in France family number. My direct ancestors are in CAPS. So with Joseph-Rafael I share (7) PIERRE TRAHAN & (3o) MADELEINE COMEAU I use the earliest name of a person by a French speaker. Usually baptisimal. Others used later in life names. When a family name changes to a dit name. I usually put the "old" family name in the suffix of the children. When I share a line if it crosses 1755-1785 instead of my usual 3 generation, I will try & take family back to Acadie. Did I miss anything? anyone do these different? Do you kep a separate list of the possible spellings? Am thinking there is a better way for me to reference names? Also, I do not have the DOBR records, only the Asc. #'s. so was unclear as to that the records were you were referrring to. Thanks for clearing Not sure who the lost cousin is, but I believe we lost a cousin, "Marie Rose Bonnevie" because her name was spelled differently in the interment record. Ot could be no one was researching her in depth. One again, thanks for the help. M
