Herb Bennerfield officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday until service time. A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Sonnier passed away at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Maison du Monde Nursing Home. Mr. Sonnier was a retired bus driver with the Vermilion Parish School Board. He enjoyed camping, fishing, riding horses and most of all spending time with this family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Isabelle Rodrigue Sonnier, of Delcambre; a special niece who cared for him Debbie Baudoin of Erath; one sister Lula Mae Toups and her husband, Jay, of Delcambre; five nieces Virgie Landry, Mona Landry, Glenda VanDuzee, Darlene Clark and Christine Castille; four nephews Mike, Eddie and Jace Toups, and Kevin Touchet; 12 great-nieces; and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and Louisa Meaux Sonnier; and one sister Bernice Sonnier Touchet. Pallbearers will be Danny Baudoin, Kevin Touchet, Eddie Toups, Harold “T-Boy” Renard, Dr. Peter VanDuzee and Jace Toups. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Sonnier, Jed Sonnier, Arconge “Coon” Touchet and Mike Toups.
